The Kentish Lass (‘TKL’) is an independent maker of jewellery
The purchaser, buyer, commissioner, you (‘The Client’)
Advertised Price means the price shown as the purchase price whether that be on TKL website, a shop, or other location.
Commissions means Pieces made for The Client to The Clients specific requirements including but not limited to a Standard Stock Piece which is remade in alternative Materials, a Piece that is designed specifically for The Client.
Components means ear wires, ear studs, jump rings, chains, clasps, focal points, charms not made by TKL but manufactured by a third party.
Materials mean any and all wire, Components, Gems, Pearls, Beads, chains, utilised in the making of a Piece
Pieces mean individual items of jewellery, whether Standard Stock or Commissions
Standard Stock means Pieces not made to order
How it works
The Client selects the Piece or Pieces in which they are interested and adds them to their shopping basket and pays at checkout.
If the Client wants a standard Piece in different gems/wire the Client should use the contact form on the TKL site or email or telephone TKL to discuss their requirements. TKL will advise if it is possible to meet the Clients requirements and if so will advise the timescale, delivery, and price (if different from Advertised Price)
The Client contacts TKL via the contact form on this web-site, email or telephone to make their inquiry and sets out what they are interested in and any specific timescale or date by which the item is required and their budget.
TKL advises whether the requirement is something she can produce and provide within the timescale of The Client.
TKL is happy to meet in person with The Client where this is practicable. TKL is happy to meet The Client at her studio, by prior arrangement to allow The Client to view available gems and to discuss requirements.
There is no charge for discussion, and or designs. Any and all designs are and remain the Intellectual Property of TKL. No design may be reproduced in any form whatsoever without the prior written consent of TKL.
There is no obligation to proceed with a Commission prior to work commencing if The Client decides they no longer wish to proceed.
Once a design has been agreed for a Piece or Pieces a non-refundable 20% deposit is required prior to work commencing: the 20% deposit being 20% of the agreed budget.
However, where work has commenced and The Client changes his /her mind and decides not to continue with the Commission The Client shall reimburse TKL for any additional specific purchase made by TKL AND requested by The Client to complete the Commission. For clarity where The Client has requested TKL to buy specific Materials to complete the Commission, The Client shall pay TKL the amount expended in such purchase, including but not limited to any postage, import charges or taxes.
Postage is in addition to the price of the Piece.
Items will be sent via Royal Mail First Class Special Delivery within the UK, unless agreed otherwise with The Client.
The Kentish Lass only posts to UK addresses (excluding Northern Ireland)
UK VAT is considered to be included within the purchase price.
Regrettably, The Kentish Lass Jewellery does not deliver to non-mainland UK addresses.
Once the Piece is despatched TKL takes no responsibility for late or non-delivery due to circumstances outside of TKLs control.
Any items damaged in transit may be returned as detailed in the returns section
Clients who wish to collect their Piece in person, TKL is very happy to receive visitors to her studio by prior arrangement.
Payment of any deposit is required prior to work commencing.
Payment for each Piece is required by transfer of funds via cheque/cash/bank transfer / Paypal.
Full payment must be received and cleared to TKLs chosen bank account prior to any Piece being despatched
There is a 7-day money-back guarantee for Standard Stock with the exception of earrings which cannot be exchanged for hygiene reasons.
So if you change your mind about your purchase, return it in an unused and saleable condition, in the original packaging, within 7 days of the payment date and a refund for your purchase price, less the cost of the original postage costs, will be made to The Client.
Commissions are excluded from the 7-day money-back guarantee as the Client and TKL will have consulted at all points of the making of the Piece or Pieces including but not limited to design, gems, and sizing.
If a Piece arrives damaged or faulty please contact TKL within 7 days of receipt to arrange for return, replacement or refund
The cost of Returns is the responsibility of The Client, except where the Piece is being returned faulty or because the incorrect item was received.
Returns are the responsibility of The Client until they reach TKL and TKL can not accept liability for any lost or damaged Pieces The Client is returning and TKL strongly recommends that Pieces are sent using a delivery service that insures you for the value of the Piece.
TKL does not accept any responsibility or liabilty for returned items The Client sends which are not delivered to TKL. It is The Clients responsibility to contact their chosen delivery provider to make enquiries regarding lost packages.
In the interest of customer privacy and security TKL will only process returns and or refunds when dealing with the original Client.
If you need to return your gift, please inform the person who purchased the Piece so they can discuss the return/ refund/ replacement/ alteration with TKL in accordance with these terms
All Pieces are made and finished to a high standard using quality Materials, because each is handcrafted slight variations can occur between Pieces on TKLs website and those The Client receives.
Colours of gems / pearls may vary slightly due to tolerances in photographic reproduction and differences between computer monitors.
